Joy Wedmedyk, (Apetebii Osa Irosun), is a medium, minister, shamanic healer, and a drum maker. She has been on a spiritual quest for over 30 years. Joy is a teacher and healer of others through her work as a visionary and artist in ritual ceremonies of the heart. She has studied with Shamans and Healers from the Americas, Cuba and Africa. Joy is an initiate of the African tradition of Ifa, the Wolf Clan Teaching Lodge, and has been initiatiated by the Shamans of the village of Dano in Burkina Faso, West Africa. She is deeply connected to the elements of the Earth, the Ancestors and the Ancient Ones. She sees the Creator in every one she meets. Joy inspires others to find the center of their being through the discovery of their own personal mythology and their own source of healing.

Joy Wedmedyk has been presenting workshops and weekend retreats for over 20 years. These artistic and educational and multicultural events give the participants an opportunity to experience, create and learn from the cosmology and mythology of the indigenous people of the Earth.

Based on the Spiritist teachings of Allen Kardec, the Spirits Mass evolved as a way for people to pray for and receive messages from their ancestors, or from others that have crossed over, aspects of nature, various spirit guides, and to receive healing. While the first spiritists were influenced by Christianity, over time, the Spirit Circles evolved becoming combined with the traditions of Ifa. The modern Spirit Mass is no longer centered on one culture. It can now be adapted to embrace the ethnically diverse global community. Today's Spirit Mass is a vibrant and innovative channel for spirit communication.
